Aunia Kahn was born and raised in Detroit, MI. In 2005 her career was officially launched with her first exhibition, and immediately gained interest in fine art gallery showings across the United States and internationally. Kahn's works are a combination of many disciplines wrapped into one, which create a hybrid art form consisting of melding photography, painting and collage. Each works makes use of her own likeness in movie-like stills of elegant decadence, varied taboo and often controversial subject matter to challenge the viewer, their understanding and preconceived notions; yet she connects through honest feeling and emotions present in today''s society. She designs, builds, and executes characters, non-existent places, dreams, illusions, fears and fables. --------------
Kahn''s work has been shared with the public in over 175 showings, which include renowned locales such as The San Diego Art Institute, Los Angeles Center for Digital Art, The Mitchell Museum, The St. Louis Artists'' Guild, Mills Pond Gallery, and ©POP Gallery amongst others. --------------
Aunia''s images, likeness and presence have been featured, interviewed and seen on FOX News LA, REFUSED Magazine, Celebrity Artist Michael Bell Radio Show, Juxtapoz On-line, Grab Magazine [Italy], Crawling Tunes Magazine (Germany), SNAP Magazine (UK), and Forbidden Whispers Magazine (UK) which are but a small sampling of her exposure. In 2007 Le Bourgeois Vineyards featured “Rousing the Whirlwind” on a limited edition collectors series of bottled wines. She also writes music, lyrics and vocals for the band AfterChain. ---------------
Aunia currently resides in Illinois with 4 German Shepherds and 2 black cats in her secret closet. |

Saving Taz! Commission for the group "TAC" one of their focuses is the Tasmania Devil which are very sick from cancer and are in danger of being extinct. "TAC" is a group from a community college in my area that wants to help the Tasmanian Devil.

This year I will be a part of the "Great Pit Ball" which is hoping to raise $250,000 for Villalobos Animal Rescue Center, the largest no-kill pit bull rescue center in the country (www.vrcpitbull.com). This event will feature a Red Carpet Movie Premiere, Art Show, Celebrity Poker Tournament, Gourmet 11 Course Meal, and Benefit Concert.
